All sixth graders had enjoyed the tour of Manhattanville College.”It’s a great college” states a sixth grade student.Students explored half of the campus and learned the history of the college.”In 1841 in a three-story house on Houston Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, the Academy of the Sacred Heart, a Catholic boarding school for girls, was founded. The Academy relocated in 1847 to an area just north of New York City on a hill overlooking the village of Manhattanville. Destroyed by a fire in 1888, the Academy was rebuilt on the same foundation and continued to grow, both in curriculum and physical environment.”-History of Manhattanville.We also learned college is a very fun place, but in order to succeed, studying is the key.”Failure is an option’’ We must also thank Mrs.Williams , coordinator, for this amazing trip.Also for all students who or will graduate from.R.J. The sixth graders will visit the castle there again for the sixth grade dance!☺
